Samuel Salcedo. Hyperrealism or life without embellishment

Perhaps at first glance, the hyper-realistic sculptures of Samuel Salcedo seem unattractive and even repulsive in some places.

But after looking closely, you can understand and accept his message — it s about us, people who are not covered under masks of goodness, this is when we don’t strive to appear to be the best from all our forces, and finally, when we don’t deceive ourselves and others, we face the world with our real advances and faults.

Samuel Salcedo was born in Barcelona in 1975 and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in his hometown and Manchester. One of his favorite materials is plastic (polyester).

His 3D, color works somewhere on the border between the sculptural works and the puppet image. They are intriguing, amusing or disgusting, but do not leave indifferent.

Emotions are open, real, non-play modeled on spherical shapes. These strange heads, or balls with faces, express true feelings, like the nervous hyper cells of our souls express the whole range of sensations.
