When design inspires #7. Pure aesthetics of pure forms. Pierre Cabrera
The form. Line. Material. The harmony of these three components provides a clean design, free from any frippery, like the triumph of functionality and beauty. Twenty years after working in various design bureaus Pierre Cabrera began to develop his own line of conceptual things.
“My art turns on two creative lines”, says the designer, “the origin itself of the product — its design and its bends — that I like pure in order to let the materials express and the raw material that I modify in an uncommun way to create the originality. My activity spreads into two different fields : the industry for which I achieve design works and the craft art world for my own products. In these two opposite worlds, I find common aspects where I can shake up traditions”.
The work for Tulip lamp, precisely reveals this artist’s worldview. Clean lines create curves of pure forms, where light becomes an important design element. Being born inside a flower,it gently scatters in space. The shadows create by it, lie on the surface, transforming any room.
